How to get there
We know that many of you will be travelling from different parts of the world, so we’ve put together a simple guide to help make your journey to Aegina as smooth as possible.
Unfortunately, there is no direct flight option to Aegina, as the island does not have an airport. However, you can easily reach Aegina by flying into Athens and then taking a short ferry ride from Piraeus Port. So, whether you are traveling from near or far, your journey begins at Athens International Airport (ATH), Greece’s main international airport.
From the Airport to Piraeus Port
To reach Aegina, you’ll first need to make your way to the Port of Piraeus, where ferries depart throughout the day.
There are three easy ways to get there:
By Metro: A convenient and budget-friendly option. Take Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) from the airport and change to Line 1 (Green Line) towards Piraeus. The journey takes approximately 70–90 minutes.
By Express Bus (X96): The X96 Airport Express Bus connects the airport directly with Piraeus Port and operates 24 hours a day. Depending on traffic, the journey usually takes 60–90 minutes.
By Taxi: If you prefer the easiest and most comfortable option, taxis are available outside the arrivals hall. The drive to Piraeus typically takes 40–60 minutes, depending on traffic.
Ferry to Aegina
From Piraeus, simply hop on a ferry to Aegina. Ferries run every day, all year round, with frequent departures from early morning until late evening. During the summer months, there are dozens of sailings each day, making it easy to find a departure that fits your travel plans. Ttickets are generally available at the port on the day of travel, although booking ahead is always a good idea for extra peace of mind.
You’ll find two types of ferries:
- Flying Dolphins / High-Speed Ferries – approximately 35–40 minutes
- Conventional Ferries – approximately 1 hour and 10–20 minutes
We truly can’t wait to welcome you to one of our favourite places in the world. Thank you for making the journey to celebrate this special weekend with us—it means more than words can
